Best Time for a Uganda Safari

Uganda offers excellent wildlife and nature experiences throughout the year.

However, weather conditions can influence forest trekking, game drives and birdwatching.

December to February

These months are generally relatively dry and can provide favourable conditions for gorilla trekking, chimpanzee trekking and wildlife viewing.

June to August

Another popular period for Uganda wildlife safaris.

Drier conditions in many destinations can make forest trekking and game drives more comfortable.

March to May

Rainfall can be heavier during these months.

The forests become lush and green, offering beautiful photography opportunities.

September to November

These months can provide rewarding birdwatching opportunities, although rainfall may affect forest trails and road conditions.

We recommend reserving gorilla and chimpanzee trekking permits well in advance, especially during popular travel periods.
